Another Project...from aluminum cans

As if we didn't have enough projects this year we added another one.  Actually, we have been working up to this one for a couple of years.  Kennedy has been saving up money from all of our aluminum cans.  Originally it was to buy a trampoline but Grandma and Grandpa Staples took care of that for Christmas a couple years ago.  So we decided to buy a playground.  Kennedy had about $250.00 saved up.  Mom and Dad added a little extra (okay alot extra).  We waited and waited for the spring weather to break so we could set up the playground.  In fact we had all the pieces sorted and waiting in the garage for a few days.  But finally we got to build our new playground.  It took about a week or so just because of the rain delays and only getting a couple hours of daylight a night to work on it.

This is just the main fort part.  The downstairs has 1/2 sand and 1/2 floor with the picnic table built on the side.  The upstairs is a fort with two bay windows and then a "sky fort".  An extra little level just big enough to hold 1 person out on a loft.  There is a telescope up there to spy on the neighbors with.  In the back is the steps up to the fort but in the front there is a climbing wall and slide.  On one side there are monkey bars and on the other side there are 2 swings and a glider.  My kids are spoiled rotten!  It's so big it takes up most of the back yard.  But we decided the backyard is for them during the growing up years and we can redesign it when they are gone.  Hope it provides tons of fun for years to come.
