Bear Lake Fun

Staci's parents have owned a timeshare at Bear Lake for years. They have decided to sale the timeshare but had to use up a week before it expired. So they planned a quick get away to Bear Lake over Presidents Day weekend. We were going to snowmobile but no one wanted to spend the extra money for rentals so we just spent a relaxing weekend away. However, there were some interesting moments. We had intentions of going up on Saturday Feb 14. Staci had tossed around the idea of staying home and doing something fun for Valentines. Then we were going to meet the family for dinner so we were going to go up. Then it started to snow, alot. So then we decided maybe we were not going up on Saturday. Then it stopped snowing, so we decided we would be going. We rushed to get packed and out the door but we were about 30 mins behind Staci's family. We got to Brigham City and got a phone call that they had made it to Logan and it was snowing really bad so they were turning around and coming home. So we were right by Maddoxx and thought we might see if we could get in but thought that since it was Valentines Day we probably would have to wait forever. Staci ran in to see how long it would take to seat 8 and to our surprise it was only 20 mins. It actually took longer for the rest of the family to get back to Brigham than it did to be seated on Valentines. We had a very nice dinner (thanks Jan and Joe) We even had a serenade. Some weird group of guys walked around the restaraunt and started singing to Oaklan. Weirdest part of all was they sang "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot" to the baby on Valentines. Hummmm, What? Sunday morning we were already packed so we got up, got ready, and headed off to Bear Lake. This was a new timeshare that we hadn't been to before and we were very excited to see how nice the condo was. It was a two bedroom two bath condo with a Murphy Bed too. So it slept all of us just fine. Jan and Joe gave up the luxury Master Suite for our little family to spread out in. (We owe you Mom and Dad!) So we set up a blow up mattress for Kennedy, set up the Pack and Play for Oaklan, and we got the King size bed and our own bath. It was very nice of Grandma Jan and Grandpa Joe to give up such a nice room. But it was so nice to be able to let Kennedy have her own shows to watch or to let Oaklan nap away from the noise. They had an indoor swimming pool so we spent time at the pool. It was Oaklan's first trip to a pool and he loved it. And we are so proud of Kennedy and the way she was jumping in the water and swimming around. She had arm floaties on but was doing everything by herself which is a major accomplishment. We also took Oaklan on his first sled ride. He didn't show much emotion to this, he was having a hard time seeing with the bright sun on the snow. And I don't think he could move all decked out in his snow gear. He only lasted about 15 mins and that was pushing it. Luckily we used a hill right outside the condo doors. We decided to stay until Tuesday and let Kennedy miss a day of school. We woke up to snow....again. Only this time we had to get home so we could work on Wednesday. So Brian called his sister in Logan and they said it was okay. The snow stopped for a little while and away we went. We made it to Logan just fine and then the road home was closed due to the snow. So we had to take the long way home through Tremonton. We did however make a stop at the cheese factory and treated Jan and Joe to lunch at Cafe Sabor. That really didn't pay for all they did for us that weekend but it was a wonderful lunch. We eventually made it home only to find about 15 inches of snow in our driveway. Oh what an adventure.

It looks like you guys had a great time! Remember when we were little and Deena and I went with your family? I love the pic of your dad with Oaklan. I was showing my Caden your pictures, and he thinks Kennedy is cute.....should I set up the arranged marriage thing yet?
