June has been busy. Baptism, TREK, and of course the Greenwell Reunion. I am the family Grocery buyer. I buy and pack the groceries for 300 people. Okay, make that we. We are the family Grocery buyers. We: Brian and myself, my Mom and Dad, and my cousin Tammy. I organize a trailer full of groceries with the help of my loving husband, parents, and my cousin. This year was a little stressful because I was gone to TREK the week before the Greenwell Reunion. We came back from TREK on Saturday and the groceries had to be to camp on Wednesday. But we did it!
We had planned to go up to the reunion Friday during the day. But since the trailer is easy to pack we decided we could make it up there after work on Thursday. It is so nice to have a trailer that is mostly packed. Just add clothes and food and you get an instant campout! So we got there, got set up , and got to enjoy a night at the campfire with just a few family friends. It was nice and relaxing for a change.
We had time to do whatever we wanted on Friday until the rest of the family got there. We decided to hike up to this waterfall. It was just a small hike and would be easy with a 2 year old right.
It was an easy hike to the bottom of the waterfall but there was an turn in the trail that took you to the top of the waterfall. It was almost straight up. I made it about 1/2 of the way up pushing the two year old up ahead of me. Then we decided to sit and wait and let Brian and Kennedy explore further. I got a phone call from Brian (surprised that the service worked but it did) and he said oh, it's just up the hill a little further you can do it. So Oaklan and myself tried again. And slid back down the hill. And I gave up when Oaklan got frustrated. Then Brian came to the rescue and got us up to the top of the hill.
Then we slid all the way back down the trail. By the time we got to the bottom Oaklan had enough.
Friday was also Oaklan's 2nd Birthday. Happy Birthday Buddy! We had a few cupcakes and Brett and Amber brought this small cake. We had some small gifts and balloons for him. He still doesn't really understand so he's easy to please.
Saturday is normally the biggest day of the reunion with lots of activities planned. But it was also my Grandpa Arches 80th birthday party. So we came home for the day so we could clean up and attend the birthday party. Then we went back up to the reunion for one more night. It was another successful Greenwell Reunion.
