Pay it forward

Well, we just had an interesting encounter tonight. We were coming back from a "witch doctor" visit in Logan. (For those of you who do not know about the witch doctor feel free to ask). Me and the kids had a follow-up with him from the recent accident. Anyway I asked Brian to stop in Brigham at the Maurice's because there was some boots I wanted to try on and I needed warmer clothes. Then we stopped at the Subway next door for dinner. We were on our way home on Hwy 89 headed south when we witnessed an accident. A red truck just came out into the traffic without even stopping to look and ran a car off the road. The car ended up hitting a telephone pole and the truck drove away. Anyway we turned around and went back and gave our witness to the police. It was a driver that just had her learner's permit, with her 14 year old sister who was 8 months pregnant, and another sister's baby in the back seat. She was freaking out so we tried to calm her down. When we left the scene the pregnant sister and the baby were being checked out by the paramedics. I hope they are okay. There was also another person who chased down the truck and got it's licence plate. Another lady was at the intersection when it all happened and she was also a witness. She was very nice as it was cold and Kennedy didn't have a coat. She went to her car and got a shawl and a stuffed animal and gave it to Kennedy. When we were ready to leave I told Kennedy to go back and give it to the lady. She told Kennedy to keep them. What a nice woman. I made sure she really wanted to give them to Kennedy and found out they were items from her "DI" sack. I didn't get anyone's names but a big "Thank you" to the woman who was so kind to Kennedy. And my thoughts go out to the girls involved in the accident. It was so not her fault and she did everything she could to avoid him. I hope they are all okay. It just brought back thoughts of my accident not too many days ago and how kind people are to stop and make sure everything is okay and to witness what happened. I guess it was my turn to "Pay it forward".
