Body Worlds

This exhibit looked really cool. They take real human bodies and put them through a process called plastination. Basically turn them into plastic models and show you all the parts of the human body. We wanted to go and see this but the cost of the tickets is kinda alot. The other day we got a call from Carla and she was able to get some free tickets from her work. She graciously gave us two of them. Brian and I had already taken Friday the 14th off to be able to sleep in from our late night concert. So instead of sleeping in we sent Kennedy to school and we headed to Salt Lake to see this amazing exhibit. I thought that the displays of the babies would bother me being as I was not-to-long-ago pregnant but instead I found them completely facinating. I could have spent alot of time looking at them. They show you fetus' in all different stages from 6 weeks (basically a little ball of indisingishable cells) up to about 30 weeks. I was amazed at the detail that a fetus has at 9 weeks old. You could already see little fingers. Some of the babies had hair, others didn't. I was just amazed at seeing the actual development. I also spent a few extra minutes examining the kidney's, being as I have one that doesn't work. I thought it was kinda cool to see what I had been told is wrong with mine. I highly recommend attending this exhibit. Everyone I know that has attended it has said it was worth it, even those who are sensitive to this kind of stuff.
