Our New House...sort of

It's amazing what a little updating can do! We have been fixing up the house the past year or two and this summer we were able to refinance and get enough money to fix up the outside of the house. So we started with new siding. It's called smartpanel and it's basically a composite board and batton. I can't believe the difference it has made to our house. We have had so many compliments on it. It's funny too because the color you see is actually just the primer but it matches our brick so well that people think we painted it that way. Don't worry, in the spring when it's warm enough to paint we will use the same color or close to it. We still have hopes of re-roofing too but that will wait until next year and see what the economy brings. Brian, Spencer (Brian's brother), Rod (Brian's Dad), and Joe (Staci's Dad) have spent countless hours working on this. (And still a few more to come caulking and painting.) Night after night, in the dark and cold they would set up the lights and put on their coats and get out there and work until about 10:00 pm. Then finally they would come inside and we would eat. But it's all worth it. Just look at the amazing results. I'm not sure we can ever pay our family back for all the favors they do for us.
