When we first married we didn't have a hard time incorporating each others Christmas traditions. Staci's family always has a BINGO party on Christmas Eve, luckily the only tradition that Brian had for Christmas Eve was reading the book "The Night Before Christmas." That was easy to incorporate and was actually a good way to wind down after BINGO. So the first few years of marriage we tried to find the same book that Brian grew up with, one that has moving parts. We found it one year just accidently and bought a copy, only to realize later that those books cannot be found at every bookstore..we should have gotten several copies. Anyway, as we searched for the book we discovered there are some other really cool versions of the book and we started buying them. It has now turned into an annual tradition and we get a new "Night Before Christmas" book each year. This year Brian found this version that has paper cutouts that are pretty delicate so the book got stored away with the copy of the one he grew up with. The rest of the books get displayed for the season. Then on Christmas Eve we sit down together and read the copy of the original book Brian grew up with.
