Hayrides and more..

For the past few years Carla, Brian's Mom, has been part of the Trentini Club. That's a club for the Italians that immigrated from that region. They have an annual Christmas hayride. We get to go to the festivites so we packed up the kids on an unusually warm Dec day.

There are so many people that there is one trailer that is pulled by the horses and then there are two trailers that are pulled by a tractor. They start at the West Weber Elementary School, go around a couple country blocks and back to the school. Then there are treats and drinks, a few Christmas songs, and Jolly Old Saint Nick! We got on the last trailer...one behind the tractor.

We got half way around the country blocks and heard a really weird noise then stopped. We looked up ahead and the horses had pulled their trailer through a vinyl fence. We found out later that their lead strap had broke and they started to fight each other. Luckily noone got hurt. We got back to the school and the kids got to see Santa.

Then the kids stayed with Grandma Carla and Grandpa Rod while Mom and Dad did some Christmas shopping. Then when we picked up the kids we went downtown to the Christmas Village. It ended up being a fun family day.
