Where did the time go?

My baby is ONE! I can't believe it - where has the time gone? I absolutely love teaching him new things and watching him develop and grow, but at the same time I can't help but miss that little baby.

Especially at this point. He is into everything! I don't know whether it's because he's a boy or if it's just his personality but he is way more curious than Kennedy ever was. I know that he just wants to learn about things. He is now tall enough he can open our doors so closing the doors doesn't keep him out of trouble. He can also lift up the toilet seat and flush the toilet. That has become one of his favorite things to do. He also enjoys the pantry. He can reach the first shelf but it's mostly the trash can he likes the most. He is a very active kid and doesn't sit down to watch a movie or cartoon at all. If you find something to entertain him for longer than 5 mins you have done well.

As I posted a few days ago, he can walk now. He knows a few signs. He signs for "more", "eat", and he just learned "yummy", and "milk". He doesn't really say any words yet. He mimics you when you say "uh oh" or "all gone" or "ma ma" but he doesn't do it on his own. He plays "peek a boo" by covering one eye. Sometimes he ends up covering his nose or his ear but it's still a fun game. He still doesn't have any teeth. He's apparently taking after his mother in that regard but he loves to brush his...um...gums!

When Grandma Jan or Grandpa Joe come over and pick him up in their arms he starts waving "bye bye". It's so funny how babies pick up on things. He has figured out that when Grandma Jan comes over he usually goes to her house to play while mom works. So he automatically assumes that when Grandma or Grandpa picks him up he gets to go bye bye. And he hates when they leave the house without him. We make a game of waving goodbye out the window just so he doesn't break down in hysterics. At least he loves his Grandparents!

I have to say, I think this one year old is pretty darn cute!
