Spring Break 2011 - Moab - Day Four

Time to go home and of course it's the warmest and clearest day we have had so far.  After breakfast and packing up the cars we headed back down to 'Hole in the Rock' so Kennedy could get a souvenir.  That place is a most interesting place.  Kennedy did find a little lizard "mood" necklace.  Just like a "mood" ring but in necklace form.  And she found a little ring.  Then back into town and we grabbed hamburgers and headed over to the sand hill so the kids could play.  Kennedy had been begging to play there.

One really big sandy hill in the middle of the red rock.

Brian got Oaklan about half way up...

Then he brought him back down...

Then Brian went back up with Kennedy.  Almost to the top....

Brian made it, Kennedy got too tired.

Then we wanted to find Tusher tunnel.  It involved some off-roading so we left Mom and Dad's car back at the beginning of the trail and they piled into our truck with us.  The path got a little rocky in spots but was worth the trip.

The start of the tunnel..

almost there...

the view when you come out of the tunnel.  AMAZING!

As we returned to find Mom and Dad's car we wondered why we didn't recognize the trail.  Strange.  We could see the road but we were turning the wrong way.  Somewhere we took a wrong turn but we knew we were headed back to the freeway and we could get to their car from there.  Once we got up to speed on the freeway we noticed a strange noise, and then we felt the tire blow.  Oh great!  One lost car, and one blown tire.  Not Good.

Soon we had a spare tire on, we found Mom and Dad's car, and we headed home.
It was a safe trip home, but an expensive end to our trip.
