Oaklan's Birthday Fun

Oaklan's birthday was the day before the Greenwell reunion. It made it kinda hard to have a family party when we were packing and getting ready for the big weekend. We planned to have a birthday party the Monday after we returned. Then Grandma Maxene (Jan's mom) fell and was in the hospital for a few days and we thought it would just be better to wait until we were all together on the Fourth of July and have a little mini party. Since it was his first birthday I let him dig into the cake. I just knew my boy and knew that he wouldn't hold back. See for yourself! I think he enjoyed his cake.



Starting out slow...






At this point I cut off the half of the cake that he hadn't got to yet because his cousin wanted a piece...







After this I took his into my parents shower and tried to rinse him off. Funny thing is that store bought frosting is very greasy and it doesn't just wash off. I can't scald the poor child and I can't use harsh chemicals on him. It took me quite awhile to not only wash him off but then to scrub out the bottom of the shower.

Later he got to open some presents, with the help of cousins of course.
